J.Crew Grand Ruffle Shells Galore!

A few weeks ago, ExtraPetite blogged about the J.Crew Grand Ruffle Shell:

When it went on sale for $22.75, I thought it was a good deal and ordered the XXS in all the colors it comes in to get free shipping:

The same shell was also blogged about by ReallyPetite and ABiggerCloset, and I find it interesting that the same top fits so differently on different people!  Although it's not quite as flattering on me, I still like the fit of it and am planning to keep at least one.  Now my dilemma is which color(s) to keep!  I was leaning towards the chalk, slate, and/or light berry.  The good news is that the price has since dropped and now it's only $14.99!  I also found a working free shipping code ("AC64QY") for purchases of $150+.  It almost makes me want to return these and re-order to save a few bucks!

  1. OMG- how cute are you??? I love all the colors on you but I ended up keeping chalk, slate and light berry :) I am still debating on the the peach one....LOL It fits like a tunic on you which I think is adorable w/the tights! Mine is a little shorter which would be too short for me to wear with tights so I have to tuck in with a skirt:)

  2. This looks cute, now I want one...silly question because I am too lazy too look it up on their website - what material is the fabric? Is it a knit/jersey kind of fabric, or is it a woven/cotton or silky kind?

  3. Oh boy...so many color choices! You really are too cute! Because you have fairer skin I'd say go for the more colorful like the berry or cinamon. I can't believe it's $14 now...I totally would just return and repurchase, if you can return all of em shamelessly. And oh yea , tell us which store you returned to so the rest of us sized xxs vultures can swoop in : P

  4. @Kerry: The material says 100% cotton on the tag, hope that helps!

@ReallyPetite & PAG: Do the ruffles behave after washing/drying? I'm going to be annoyed if I keep 3 of them only to end up with wonky ruffles that require extra care (like ironing which uh yeah, probably not gonna happen :P)

I'm planning to return to the J.Crew at Century City mall if any fellow XXS in LA are interested!

  7. Wow this top looks great on you! That is totally something that I would wear to work! I would never have thought to shop at J. Crew b/c their window displays (well in San Francisco at least) are HIDEOUS, but now I think I'll check it out.

And, you have the skinniest legs ever girl!! *jealous*

  8. sophia - look who's talking miss skinny-legs! it's funny because i used to hate my legs because i had fat calves (proportionally compared to the rest of my legs). but i agree with you about j.crew... this is actually the first time i've ever bought anything from them (always thought their clothes ran too big).

  9. I think that post by PAG sparked an army of XXS girls getting this top! I bought this too in two colors (slate and chalk) and ended up keeping the slate. I really love the berry color on you though, and it's perfect for spring/summer! Which did you end up keeping?

  10. I ended up keeping the berry and slate... and then chalk too because the price kept dropping and I couldn't resist it at $11.99!
