A Tiny Coat & A Special Offer!

A quick heads-up, I just received this Jack by BB Dakota Romaine Plush Coat in XS:

And it fits TINY!  Even hubby was impressed by the fit.  Granted the sleeves are too long, but other than that, the armholes, bust, waist, and length all fit me remarkably well.  I'll take pictures later, but wanted to put up a quick post because Piperlime is offering a $25 or $100 giftcard with every purchase today only!!  (sorry, offer expired, but coupon codes should still work!)

Piperlime always has free shipping and free returns, so it won't hurt to check it out.  If you're sure you want to keep, you can use the code TREAT4U for an additional 10% off (thanks Elle), or sign up for their emails to get an instant 15% off code.  A word of warning, if you use a coupon code, you can only return for store credit.  I got it in white, but might pick up the black as well.

Hope some of you guys can get in on this deal!  :)

  1. I guess Jack by BB Dakota is making some small coats! The plaid one I had is also from the same brand in XS and it fits really well except the sleeves are a tad long. Yay for finding small coats! =)

  2. I was eyeing this coat! But in the end, I was just too slow and by the time I was going to receive it would've been too cold to wear it because it's on backorder. Can't wait for your review!

BTW, I contacted Piperlime about the store credit thing with codes, and apparently you will still get a full refund for what you paid for the coat if you decide to return it.

  3. Such a cute coat! I am afraid of white coats though because I always get ketchup or marinara sauce or pizza sauce on it no matter how careful I try to be.

Thanks for reminding me about the no return with coupon policy...I keep forgetting. :)

  4. The coat looks great in Ivory. I'm a little hesitant because, like Cher, I'm afraid by the time it arrives, it won't hold up against the chills in Boston.

  5. Yay!! So glad you found it! So what do you plan to do about the sleeves? Roll or alter? Looks like they can be rolled up with the help of the buckles?

  6. Stylepint - I was just thinking what great timing when I saw your post!

Cher - I'm surprised you were able to get a refund (unless it was defective), because it's clearly stated in their return policy. It'd still be a hassle to have to call customer service every time you want to return something though :\

Elle - I realize white coats aren't very practical but hubby really liked the way it looks lol... feels so winter-y with a snuggly snowy white coat on! I'll just have to be extra careful to not eat anywhere near the coat :P

Gracie - I hadn't thought of that, because it doesn't get that cold in SoCal. Maybe you can save it for the spring when the winter chills warm up a bit?

Michelle - The sleeves are quite slim fitting so I can't really roll up the thick lined material... I'm thinking I'm going to have to alter. Hopefully it won't be too expensive!

  7. I love that coat...super cute. I'm a sucker for white coats. i actually have a few and have spilled coffee on it while driving...argh!!! so definitely be careful...i have paid so much drying cleaning fees to try to get rid of it. can't wait to see this coat on you!

  8. Wow it's really cute! I don't think it's warm enough for my weather though. Boo :(

  9. What a cute coat! If it fits you, it will definitely fit me. Just like Ping, I am afraid of white coats. They are really hard to care for. I am looking forward to see the coat on you

  10. Hi! You would get a white coat. HAHAHA, corny joke I know...couldn't resist! That coat looks so adorable omg! Hmm, I'm debating on whether or not I need to size up? Should I get a S instead? Oh dear why am I contemplating I shouldn't be buying a coat... It's good to plan ahead for winter and a really cold fall right?!

  11. Very cute coat! Would love to see how it looks on you. Too bad it's not wool. It wouldn't protect me from the fierce winter cold.

  12. Ahhh you ordered it!! I've been waiting to pull the trigger on this one since I read the reviews. Glad to know it fits well!

  13. Ping - I'm glad to hear that god forbid I spill something on it, dry cleaning CAN get the stains out!

PetiteLittleGirl - I can see since you have a small child that a white coat won't be practical (but you can try the black!) I think I'm willing to give it a chance... it's not too expensive anyhow, so won't be a huge loss if something bad happens.

Banhannas - LOL! The thought did briefly cross my mind that maybe I like it because I'm used to wearing a white coat :P As for sizing, I'd consider getting the size S if you want to layer underneath, because the sleeves are very, very slim.

The Little Dust Princess & Em - The material feels very similar to the Ann Taylor wool coat that I got, and it's fully lined. I can't vouch for how it'll hold up in fierce cold weather, but it's more than warm enough for mild SoCal winters.

TinyInTexas - I've been trying to remember who first tweeted about it, and it must've been you!! All those reviews were right, I can't see the XS fitting anyone who's even a size or two up from me.

  14. Tiny coat like that? I had to buy it if it fit you! :D

    Oh, such an enabler...

  15. BB Dakota runs small. I have the Bella Twilight jacket in XS. The sleeves are a little long, and a tad too wide, but not annoying enough for me to get them actually tailored, so I just fold them under. Been scoping the BB Dakota coats now, but not sure if they're warm enough.

Totally dig your coat review as the only ones out there for us tiny gals are Burberry coats, which are unfortunately, way out of my price range.

  16. So cool - Thank you for posting this review. I've never tried their coats but I'm definitely checking them out now!

  17. Jen - Hehe... that's a compliment to us bloggers :P

deborah - Burberry is out of my price range too... and it's not like they fit well off the rack either! But at least alterations are free.

Callandra - I've never tried any of their coats either, so this was a pleasant surprise! I worry that this might actually be too small for some petites!

you can actually get this same coat from gliks.com for $58.00. shipping is free if you get over the $60 mark. here is the link: http://www.gliks.com/Jack-Romaine-Plush-Coat-P554.aspx

  21. L4pinkpetal - Sorry bout the delay, I've been meaning to take it to the tailors to get the sleeves shortened, so haven't taken pics yet.

Doris - Thanks for the link! I get 10% cashback for Piperlime from Discover card, so it'd still be cheaper when there's a coupon for Piperlime... such as the 20% off sale going on today (code SPECIAL, 11/24 only). But it's good to know that it's cheaper elsewhere, and I actually spotted the same coat on Urban Outfitters for $128!

  22. haha yes! it's actually on modcloth.com website under: the first snow of the season coat and they're selling it there for 69.99$

  23. omg, sorry for spamming your comment wall.
so i follow a lot of the petite bloggers and you all seem to use EBATES.com to get a percentage of your purchase back. but you should also compare it with bigcrumbs.com..
ebates gives 8% back for piperlime purchases but bigcrumbs gives 12%

    so compare and be merry!!!!!!!!
