Skirt: LOFT Slim Denim Skirt, size 00P (post)
Cardigan: LOFT V-Neck Cardigan, size XXSP (post)
Shoes: AT Perfect Leather Pump in Porcini, size 5
Belt: AT Perfect Skinny Belt in Porcini, size XS
Long-time blog readers may remember the denim skirt from my very first LOFT haul, which I initially thought I would have to alter. But lo and behold, after just one cycle in the washer/dryer, it shrank enough to be wearable as is! I still need to belt for it to sit at my true waist, but is definitely passable and hopefully will continue to shrink a bit more over time!
I also tried on a more colorful skirt with this top just for fun, and although it's brighter than what I'm used to, it definitely makes me feel like spring is almost here!
Skirt: Urban Outfitters Chiffon Drape Skirt, size XS (post)
So which pairing do you prefer?
The vibrant chiffon... or the understated denim?

ohh too difficult to choose! i like them both. the one with the pink skirt is like a sexy date night outfit and the one with the denim skirt is like a cute day time outfit. you look great in both!
ReplyDeleteI definitely love the pink skirt best! I actually think you look fantastic in the more saturated colors. You should keep wearing brights. ^_^
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ping, the denim one is better for work and the chiffon would be cute date outfit. Also, I think the style of the pink skirt makes it more playful and better suited for the weekend. It would be lovely to have a shorter cardigan to show off the chiffon skirt's style too. =)
ReplyDeleteTotally loving the pink drapey skirt! I wish I got that too after your post. It's so soft and feminine and effortless : )
ReplyDeletepink! It's a such happy and pretty color, and matches the shell really well too.
ReplyDeleteThe pink skirt combo is so fun and fashion-forward! You look great in it, but I would toss the belt with that outfit.
ReplyDeleteI have the same LOFT shell! Wow, I must be at least 2 or maybe 3 sizes bigger than you because I wear the PXS and I couldn't imagine sizing even lower. I like it with the pink skirt but sans cardigan! If only it was warm outside, right?
ReplyDeleteThe pink skirt is soo cute! I love that outfit.
ReplyDeleteI love brights! :) The pink skirt is a winner :) You look great in both but the pink really stands out ;)
ReplyDeletevibrant chiffon w/o cardigan and different shoes. get sexy liane!!!
ReplyDeleteLeft a comment of facebook also, but wanted to let you know I love this outfit! It also looks amazing with the brighter skirt, yay for versatility!
ReplyDeleteI love both looks equally.....I think the denim is more appropriate for conservative functions and the brighter skirt is great for going out! It's so nice to see someone as tiny as you wearing clothes that fit you perfectly. You look absolutely lovely ;)
ReplyDeletei love the abstract floral print top and great feature on LOFT! and i think i agree with all the previous comments: denim is great for work and the brighter skirt is great for a date. great mixes!
ReplyDeletecute and little
Vibrant chiffon! I love the short and flouncy hem! The color of course is just gorgeous and so fun :) Love how you paired these!
ReplyDeleteI love both looks but my fav has to be the pink skirt! So adorable on you!
ReplyDeleteWow you look amazing! I love both outfits, but I think each are for different occasions. You look beautiful in bright colours, I hope you purchase more bright colours to add to your wardrobe :)
ReplyDeleteBoth of those outfits are awesome! I like the contrast with the navy in the denim with the top hues but you're right - having some color in the skirt really gives it some extra oomph! LOVEEE
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the top paired with the pink skirt since it pulls the pink color from the top. It's more eye-catching and looks great :)
ReplyDeleteThey are both so great! I love the pink skirt the best since it shows more leg! :p
ReplyDeleteI feel like the biggest dummy...I have that same denim skirt and could have sworn it was dry clean only! As a result, it has gotten less than five days of wear (I just sprayed it with a squirt bottle to get the sit-down wrinkles out). So glad you wrote about washing it...now it will get more love. :)
@Ping - I was afraid the pink would be too 'cutesy', but I'm glad t hear that it comes off as 'sexy'! Lol :)
ReplyDelete@Jen - If only I knew how to better coordinate stuff... I feel like if I buy brights I'd just end up looking like a color schizo! Thanks for the thought though, I'll try to be more adventurous with color :)
@Stylepint - I have plenty of long cardigans thanks to LOFT, but not too many short, but that's a good idea!
@PetiteAsianGirl - I love that it helps give me hips! I was a little on the fence about the color but now I'm glad I decided to keep :)
@prosephina - It was a completely unplanned match... I love it when existing items unexpectedly go together so well!
@Petite-ish - Thanks for the suggestion, I did try it without a belt but it looked like it was missing something. Maybe I should've tried a different belt instead!
ReplyDelete@Banhannas - Even this was a little big on me to be honest. I wish I were a size or two bigger like you! Then clothes woulf fit better and I'd have more options.
@theresa - Thanks theresa!
@Rainy Days and Lattes - Looks like everyone really likes the pink! Thanks for your vote :)
@AubreyOhDang! - Lol I need to take a page or two from your book Aubrey! ;)
@Tara - Thanks Tara! I love the print skirt you have too, but sadly it doesn't fit on me so I had to settle for the blouse :)
ReplyDelete@Callandra - You're so sweet Callandra! It sure feels good to be wearing clothes that fit :)
@kileen - Thanks Kileen! Yay for versatility :)
@SewPetiteGal - I love the draping on the pink skirt, it's why I decided to keep even though I was a little afraid of the color :)
@Really Petite - Thanks Annie :)
@curls-and-pearls - I'm still taking baby steps when it comes to brights, but I'm encouraged by all the positive feedback! :)
ReplyDelete@StilettoTwins - Thanks Natasa! I'm still learning to put outfits together but looks like you're already a pro! :)
@Kimberly - It was unexpected, but really worked out well! :)
@Michelle - Ooo I'm so glad I helped! I definitely remember yours, I think you're the one who made me want to get it! :)
Lovely outfit! You look perfectly proportioned in it - I'l definitely be taking tips :)

ReplyDeleteThe chiffon skirt really makes the colors of the hell pop. Both are beyond cute- I love that shell!
ReplyDeletei like the pink skirt! can anyone link me to post on how to do that cool belt loop?
ReplyDelete@featherfactor - Thank you! It took me way longer than it should've to realize that I look better when I tuck in my tops!
ReplyDelete@simplyvonne - Thanks Yvonne! You have such a talent with colors so I'm glad you approve :)
@ShortieK - The chiffon skirt pairing turned out way better than I had anticipated. Yay for existing closet finds!
@Anonymous- Sorry for the late reply, but you can find a very thorough post on how to do the belt loop with pictures here.
