But I must've been a VERY good girl last year because not only did the style resurface over the holidays in a black textured version, my Secret Santa also helped me track down the ever elusive size 00!
This was my very first Theory item and I love it. Since Jean of ExtraPetite already did a thorough post on it here, I won't go into too much detail. I knew it ran small from seeing it on other petites, but was still quite surprised at the shrunkenness of it in person.
It's slightly boxy on the side view, but because the length is cropped enough, I think it's still do-able. And the best part? A very reasonable price tag for a Theory blazer since it was an outlet find!
Thanks Santa!! You're amazing and I'm so glad we wear the same size! :)
The jacket looks great on you! I actually prefer the shrunken fit because it makes you appear taller :)
ReplyDeleteThe jacket looks great on you. The fit is awesome. It fits you well throughout (the sleeve, the length and also the shoulder). It was so nice of Jean to help you track down the jacket. I love it!
ReplyDeleteThe blazer looks really nice! I really like the style of the blazer. :D Glad you scored one!
ReplyDeleteYOU LOOK AMAZING! And congrats on your first Theory jacket, it's a great investment piece! Will you be trying to get the matching skirt? or is that too business-y for your purposes? :)
ReplyDeleteomg what a little jacket! it's very lovely on you and i love the color. glad that you were able to get your hands on this. btw the jeans you're wearing are nice, fits great everywhere.
ReplyDeletesleeves are on the shorter end. I wonder if it'd be short on me. I tried on Kelly's gratian, but I didn't have it on long enough to pay attention to the details.
ReplyDeleteVery lucky lady to get your hands on this.
Aubrey - maybe on you the sleeves would actually be "bracelet" length like they are designed to be, lol. On me it hits exactly like on Liane and I cuff 'em up.
ReplyDeleteLiane - omg this looks so much cuter on you than I imagined! When I first heard boxy I was worried but wow, this really graces you nicely in the right places and the side view is not bad. I need to give mine more love now : )
I ended up getting the matching skirt but it's a slight A-line instead of pencil so I don't love it. I'll post soon so you can help me figure out what to do with it lol...
PS - my first thoughts were along the line of Ping's ... the jeans fit you really nicely! AF kids? The color and cut are nice and elongating on your legs.
ReplyDeleteI love it! How much was it?? I am in Canada, so no Theory for me.. until I go to the states : )

The blazer looks great on you! It fits really well and it seems to hit the natural waist perfectly (I'm referring to the back).
ReplyDeleteI love this jacket on you!!! I love how great it looks on everyone in general and yet how different each person carries it. It's awesome! I love your jeans too.

Love the Theory blazer on you and I agree with the previous comments about how those jeans really elongate your legs. I think I may have to stop into AF this weekend!
ReplyDeleteI also saw your tweet about the BB Dakota Tweed jacket and snagged the last 0 on Karmaloop for $36! I'm crossing my fingers that I love it as much as other petites do...
Yay!!! It looks amazing on you!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you were able to get it! :)
Yay for being able to track down the blazer! It looks great on you and I especially like the look of it with the scrunched sleeves! I've been keeping an eye out for one (saw a sz 8 at my local Nordstrom Rack) but am not fervently searching because I know I don't *need* one so I can keep to my resolutions :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the dark side! j/k But really, this jacket looks so good on you, all without alterations to boot. I love the subtle metallic threading.
ReplyDeleteI think this looks fantastic on you!
ReplyDeleteThe jacket and jeans are great! Where did you get the jeans and what size are they?
ReplyDeleteOh yay! I'm so happy for u! Thats awesome that the sleeves fit because both my tweed (0) and new blk one (00) need to be tailored!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great on u:-)
wow, this jacket is a perfect fit on you! i love the length on you and you're so lucky to have gotten your hands on it!
ReplyDeletecute and little
Welcome to the Theory club! It looks fantastic on you! As for the boxiness, it's cut like that, but it's so well tailored that it cuts in at the waist in the perfect way that makes it so flattering. I also like to wear it with a thin cardigan or long sleeve top, with the sleeves peeking out from under the jacket sleeves. It looks kind of like a menswear blazer, where the shirt cuff is supposed to peek out.
ReplyDeleteWOW, that looks amazing on you!!
ReplyDeletethat blazer looks wonderful on you, it's so classic and chic!

the blazer looks great on you :) Usually blazers are so big, like this Ann Taylor one I bought. It's beautiful but still could be more fitted in certain areas considering it's a 00.
ReplyDeleteWay to go with the Theory Blazer! I've still yet to find one for me. It looks like a great fit on you! =)
ReplyDeleteNice find!! Oh, I love the shiny fabric mixed in!
ReplyDelete@Rinny - Thanks Rinny! It's so very rare that I find anything in adult sizing that actually is 'shrunken fit' on me!
ReplyDelete@PetiteLittleGirl - Jean really did go above and beyond her Secret Santa duties! I love it too :)
@DSK Steph - Thanks Steph! :)
@Elle - I would LOVE to have the skirt, but I don't think I'll be able to find it... I'm not too savvy in terms of hunting down rare outlet items like some other petites lol.
@Ping - Thanks Ping! They're A&F kids jeans, fit really well except they're sliightly long (I'm on my tippy toes in the pics).
@AubreyOhDang! - I think they'll probably be too short on you since you're one of the taller petites, but I don't think it matters since like Jean, I prefer crunching them up anyway.
ReplyDelete@PetiteAsianGirl - To be honest, that side view is more like 3/4 side view lol.... true side view is a bit boxier, but it's definitely still a keeper anyway :) Can't wait to see your matching skirt! I'm surprised it's not the same fit as your other Gratian skirt. And yes to the A&F kids jeans, you have such a good eye!
@Danielle C - It was orig $99, but was on sale and came out to be $80ish after shipping I think. Still not bad for Theory I thought! I didn't know that there's no Theory in Canada... so not even high-end department stores carry them?
@Gracie - Oh I hadn't even noticed that... nice catch Gracie!
@Petite Mom - I agree, it's always really interesting seeing how the same item fits each petite differently even though we're all roughly the same size!
@R.L. - They're A&F kids jeans... even the smallest size adult A&F jeans don't fit too well on me. The good thing about kids jeans is that they're so cheap! Even reg price is affordable, but you can find them as low as $10-$15 when on sale. And I'm so glad you got one of the tweed BB Dakotas! And at an even better price than me lol. I definitely went out on a limb on that one, but it fits me amazingly well and I'm so happy I decided to get it!
ReplyDelete@Michelle - Thanks Michelle! :)
@SewPetiteGal - I wasn't intentionally looking either since I didn't even know they were available, so it was a completely amazing surprise! It really felt like I was being rewarded for being good all year or something :P I hope you find one, but either way there's an up side :)
@Cee - Lol... consider me converted! I was initially taken back by the metallic threading, but have definitely warmed up to the idea once I realized that I wouldn't be wearing it for work anyway :P
@Tara - Thanks Tara! :)
@Anonymous - They are abercrombie kids jeans, style 'maddy skinny', rinse wash, size 12. Hope that helps!
ReplyDelete@Really Petite - Hmm... I hadn't even considered getting the sleeves altered since I just automatically scrunched them up. Guess I will have to wait and see how they look on you post-alterations!
@kileen - Thanks Kileen! I feel very lucky indeed!
@Alterations Needed - Thanks Kelly! You definitely started it all! It's definitely an eye-opener to put something on that's so well-tailored... now I understand all the hype! Thanks for the styling tips btw, I will definitely try layering it... perhaps over the J.Crew chiffon placket cardi? :)
@Erica - Thanks Erica!
@Erica & @i love mochi - Thank you! This is such a petite-friendly style!
ReplyDelete@Kimberly - I don't think I've ever seen another blazer that fits smaller than this one. Definitely agree with you that size 00 items don't fit like a 00 should, across so many mainstream brands! We have vanity sizing to thank for that.
@Stylepint - Wow really? For some reason I thought it was only me who had yet to own a Theory item! No worries, you already have so many cute pieces in your wardrobe that you can take your time to find the one that's right for you :)
@Jackie - Thanks Jackie! I think the metallic threads give it extra dimension, and also make it more casual which is perfect for my purposes! :)
u look so lovely in the blazer..ugh i miss wearing a blazer..heck i miss wearing everything that actually fits! lol
ReplyDeletehope u had a good vday with hubby!
I'm green with envy! The blazer looks SOOO good on you and fits so well! Your secret santa is awesome.
